Our Favorite Resorts in Tahiti: Le Taha’a Island Resort and Spa

April 28, 2015

For the next few weeks, on #TravelTuesday / #TahitiTuesday, we’re going to feature a property in Tahiti that we absolutely adore. On this very first Tuesday, we’re highlighting Le Taha’a  Island and Spa!

Le Taha’a Island Resort, which is part of the world renowned Relais and Chateaux hotel collection, is located on a secluded motu off of the main island of Taha’a. The resort boasts views of Taha’a on one side and the iconic island of Bora Bora on the other side. In addition to incredible views, it is surrounded by pristine lagoons, including a lively coral garden looking out toward Bora Bora.

With only 60 suites, including both beach suites and overwater suites, Le Taha’a is an intimate tropical paradise that exudes barefoot luxury. The resort also boasts a spa, three restaurants, a fitness center, a scuba diving shop, a tennis court, open air pool, and a helipad.  Helicopter transfers can be arranged between Le Taha’a and several resorts in Bora Bora, including the Four Seasons Bora Bora and St. Regis Bora Bora.

Le Taha’a happens to be our favorite resort within the islands of Tahiti. We love the peaceful serenity, laid back atmosphere, stunning views, and warm staff. Taha’a is reached via interisland flight on Air Tahiti to Raiatea, followed by a 30 minute ride on the resort’s private boat shuttle. We highly recommend a stay at Le Taha’a if you are looking for a remote luxurious experience, where you can escape the hassles of daily life.  Le Taha’a also pairs well with a stay on Bora Bora. We recommend 3-4 nights at Le Taha’a to fully experience the resort and the culture of main island, though we have stayed as long as 5 nights and didn’t want to leave! Additional information on the resort, including my previous trip reviews, can be found here.

Please contact me with any additional questions or to book your Taha’a Escape!!!
